Understanding the Go4 Service Fee

Go4 charges a service fee on completed shifts.

The service fee is:

  • 17.5% for payments made using Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) and ACH
  • 21% for payments made using American Express (AMEX).

The service fee is calculated based on the compensation paid to the Athletic Trainer.

Athletic Trainers Receive 100% of the Posted Rate
The compensation you post is exactly what the Athletic Trainer earns. Go4's Service Fee is added separately and is not deducted from the Athletic Trainer's pay.

When Am I Charged?

Organizations are charged only after services have been rendered.

Once an Athletic Trainer:

  • Successfully works the shift
  • Checks in through the Go4 app

Go4 begins processing payment approximately 24 hours after the shift has ended.

This allows time for any last-minute adjustments or review of the completed shift before payment is initiated.

Shift Modifications

Sometimes an event doesn't end exactly as scheduled.

If an Athletic Trainer works longer than the originally scheduled shift—or, in some cases, finishes earlier—they can request a Shift Modification through the Go4 app (only available to Athletic Trainers) to ensure payment accurately reflects the time worked.

Once a Shift Modification is submitted:

  1. The Job Poster receives an email notification.
  2. The request also appears within the Go4 dashboard for review.
  3. The Job Poster has 24 hours to either approve or deny the request.
  4. If no action is taken within 24 hours, the request is automatically approved and payment is processed based on the updated shift details.

Review Shift Modifications Promptly
We encourage Job Posters to review Shift Modification requests as soon as possible to ensure Athletic Trainers are compensated accurately for the time worked and to avoid automatic approval after the 24-hour review period.


How Athletic Trainers Are Paid

Once payment has been successfully processed, Go4 begins issuing payment to the Athletic Trainer.

Payment timing depends on the payment method used by the organization.

Organizations paying by credit card generally allow Athletic Trainers to receive payment sooner than organizations paying by ACH.

Choosing ACH?
ACH payments are a great way to avoid credit card processing fees, but they may result in longer payout timelines for the Athletic Trainer.


Billing and Receipts

After payment has been processed:

  • A receipt is emailed to the Go4 user.
  • The payment appears within your Finance Report which can be found in Finance tab of your Go4 account.
  • Financial exports can be downloaded directly from your Go4 account.

Organizations may also add additional finance contacts to receive:

  • Payment receipts
  • Financial exports

This allows finance teams, athletic departments, and administrators to stay informed without requiring access to the primary account.

To manage your finance contacts:

  1. Navigate to the Account tab within your Go4 account.
  2. Select Edit Profile.
  3. Scroll to the Finance Reporting section.
  4. Add or update the contacts who should receive invoices and financial exports.

A Shift Modification is a request submitted by an Athletic Trainer when the actual time worked differs from the originally scheduled shift.

This most commonly occurs when an event runs longer than expected, although it can also be used if coverage ends earlier than scheduled.

How will I know if an Athletic Trainer submits a Shift Modification?
Go4 will notify you in two ways:

  • By email

  • Within your Go4 dashboard

You will be prompted to review and either approve or deny the request.

How long do I have to review a Shift Modification?
Job Posters have 24 hours to review a Shift Modification request.

If no action is taken within that time, the request will automatically be approved and payment will be processed based on the updated shift details.

Reviewing requests promptly ensures Athletic Trainers are compensated accurately for the time they worked and allows you to verify any requested changes before payment is processed.

Will a Shift Modification affect my final charge?
Yes. If a Shift Modification is approved, payment will be processed based on the updated hours worked, which may increase or decrease the final amount charged.

Will I receive a receipt after I'm charged?
Yes. Payment receipts are automatically emailed to your designated finance contacts and are also available through your Finance Report.

Can I add someone else in my organization to receive invoices or financial exports?
Yes. Navigate to Account → Edit Profile → Finance Reporting to add additional finance contacts.

These contacts can automatically receive:

  • Payment receipts
