Understanding Supplies, Equipment, and Job Details on Go4

Learn how organizations communicate important event information, available supplies, and site resources so Athletic Trainers can prepare appropriately for coverage.

Every event and organization is different.

Some organizations have fully stocked athletic training rooms and medical staff on-site, while others may only have access to basic first aid supplies.

The Supplies, Equipment, and Job Details section allows organizations to provide Athletic Trainers with additional information about the event environment and any resources available on-site.

This information helps Athletic Trainers prepare appropriately for coverage and better understand what support may be available if an emergency occurs.

More Information Leads to Better Preparation
The more information an organization provides, the easier it is for Athletic Trainers to prepare and arrive ready to support the event.

Review Job

Before applying to a job on Go4, Athletic Trainers have access to information about:

  • The Job Poster
  • The event details
  • The schedule
  • Supplies and equipment available on-site
  • Emergency Action Plan information

This information helps Athletic Trainers make informed decisions about whether an opportunity aligns with their expectations, experience, and preparation needs.

Review Before You Apply
Taking a few moments to review the Job Poster profile, event details, and available supplies can help reduce surprises on event day.

Viewing the Job Poster Profile

When viewing a job in the Job Feed, select the eye icon located below the shift name to view additional information about the organization posting the opportunity.

Athletic Trainers can view several important marketplace metrics:

Jobs Listed

The total number of jobs the organization has posted on Go4 throughout their lifetime on the platform.

Response Rate

Measures how often the organization responds to Athletic Trainer applications.

Organizations with higher response rates typically review applications more consistently and communicate more quickly with applicants.

Cancellation Rate

Measures how often the organization cancels shifts after Athletic Trainers have already confirmed coverage.

A lower cancellation rate generally indicates a more reliable hiring organization.

Marketplace Transparency
These metrics help Athletic Trainers make informed decisions about the organizations they choose to work with.

Examples of information commonly included include:

Supplies Vary By Organization
The resources available on-site can vary significantly depending on the organization, venue, and event type.

Are Organizations Required to Provide Supplies?

No.

Organizations are not required to provide medical supplies or equipment for an Athletic Trainer to work a shift on Go4.

Athletic Trainers are healthcare professionals and are expected to bring the medical supplies and equipment they feel are necessary to safely support the event based on their experience and clinical judgment.

The contents of an Athletic Trainer's medical kit may vary from provider to provider depending on their experience, preferences, and the type of event they are covering.

Athletic Trainers Bring Their Own Medical Kits
Athletic Trainers should plan to arrive prepared to provide care regardless of what supplies may or may not be available on-site.

Supplies Should Be Considered Part of Your Rate
When applying for a shift, Athletic Trainers should view the posted compensation as encompassing the full scope of services being provided, including the use of supplies from their own medical kit and the future cost of replenishing those supplies.

Go4 does not currently support additional charges or reimbursement requests for supplies used during coverage through the platform's payment processing system.

If you anticipate significant supply usage or unusual medical resource requirements, we encourage discussing expectations with the organization before confirming the shift.

Athletic Trainers Should Bring Their Own Medical Kits

Go4 expects Athletic Trainers to arrive prepared to provide care regardless of what supplies may or may not be available on-site.

Athletic Trainers should plan to bring a standard medical kit appropriate for the type of event they are covering.

The contents of a medical kit may vary from provider to provider based on experience, specialty, and personal preferences.

Plan To Be Self-Sufficient
While organizations may provide additional resources, Athletic Trainers should not assume supplies will be available unless specifically listed within the job.

Your Rate Includes Supply Usage
When evaluating an opportunity, Athletic Trainers should consider the posted compensation as encompassing the full scope of services being provided, including the use of supplies from their own medical kit and the future cost of replenishing those supplies.

Go4 does not currently support additional billing or reimbursement requests for supplies used during coverage through the platform's payment processing system.

If significant supply usage is expected, Athletic Trainers should consider that when deciding whether the posted compensation aligns with their expectations.

Why Do Organizations List Supplies?

While organizations are not required to provide supplies, visibility into available resources can be extremely helpful when preparing for coverage.

Examples of supplies or equipment organizations may provide include:

  • Ice
  • Water
  • Treatment tables
  • AEDs
  • Athletic training rooms
  • Emergency equipment
  • Splinting materials
  • Crutches
  • Access to radios or communication devices

This information allows Athletic Trainers to plan accordingly and avoid unnecessary duplication of equipment.

Ice Is One Of The Most Helpful Things To Mention
Athletic Trainers often do not travel with ice unless arrangements have been discussed ahead of time. Knowing whether ice is available on-site can help providers prepare appropriately.

Understanding Job Details

The Job Details section allows organizations to communicate information that may not fit elsewhere in the posting process.

Examples include:

  • Sport or activity information
  • Athlete ages
  • Expected attendance
  • Venue logistics
  • Parking instructions
  • Check-in procedures
  • Weather considerations
  • Communication expectations
  • Special event requirements

The more detail included in this section, the better Athletic Trainers can determine whether the opportunity aligns with their experience and expectations. Job postings with richer detail tend to create better experiences for both organizations and Athletic Trainers.

Why Detailed Job Information Matters

Providing clear information helps Athletic Trainers:

  • Arrive better prepared
  • Understand the event environment
  • Bring appropriate equipment
  • Anticipate coverage needs
  • Deliver a better experience for athletes and organizations

Detailed job postings also help organizations attract stronger applicant interest and reduce surprises on event day. Expanded job details and supplies information were specifically added to improve the Athletic Trainer experience on Go4.

Set Expectations Early
The more information shared before the event, the fewer surprises there will be for both the organization and the Athletic Trainer.
