Tax Forms and 1099 Reporting

Learn how tax reporting works for Athletic Trainers on Go4, including when tax forms are issued, which form you may receive, and where to find additional tax resources.

Athletic Trainers who work shifts through Go4 are classified as independent contractors, not employees. As a result, taxes are not withheld from your payments and you are responsible for reporting your earnings when filing your taxes.

Go4 operates as a Payment Settlement Entity and follows IRS reporting requirements regarding tax form distribution.

Will I Receive a Tax Form?

Depending on your earnings and applicable IRS reporting thresholds for the tax year, you may receive a tax form related to payments processed through the Go4 platform.

Tax forms are generally made available after the close of the calendar year and are distributed in accordance with IRS requirements.

How Go4 Tracks Tax Information

Go4 automatically tracks your earnings and tax reporting information, so you don't need to manage tax forms from multiple organizations you worked with through the platform.

As a Payment Settlement Entity, Go4 follows IRS reporting requirements for Form 1099-K. Currently, a Form 1099-K is generally required only when an Athletic Trainer receives more than $20,000 in gross payments and completes more than 200 transactions through the platform during a calendar year.

If you do not meet these reporting thresholds, you will not receive a Form 1099-K from Go4. However, you are still responsible for reporting any taxable income earned through the platform.

At any time, you can export your financial records from the Finances section of the Go4 app to view and download your earnings for tax reporting purposes.

Which Tax Form Does Go4 Issue?

Go4 does not issue Form 1099-NEC because payments are processed through Go4's payment settlement infrastructure. Instead, eligible Athletic Trainers may receive a Form 1099-K when required under applicable IRS reporting rules.

Go4 cannot provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. For guidance specific to your situation, please consult a qualified tax professional.
